Obama Care Makes Economic Sense in Florida

The federal government will pay the full cost of Medicaid expansion to Florida for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016. The portion paid by the federal government will eventually decrease to 90 percent by 2020 and stay there, under the law.  But it is my understanding that Florida, still chooses to opt out of the federal Medicaid expansion program, to save money and this does not make economic sense or show any compassion for the citizens of Florida who cannot afford healthcare and are uninsured.

If the state of Florida opts out of the Medicaid expansion program, we will lose out on about $12 billion in new federal funding over the next 10 years, for an estimated savings according to Gov. Scott of $1.9 billion.  This law would allow for the state to enroll 1.6 million more on people into Medicaid rolls.  1.6 million who have no health insurance today in the state of Florida would have health insurance in October 2013.

This would create jobs in the medical field and Florida has a shortage of doctors already and many of our physicians are aging out.  By adopting Medicaid expansion, instead of doctors that we are already experiencing a shortages in leaving to states that will have the money for their services the opposite effect will happen , more doctors especially young ones and young hospital professionals would gravitate towards Florida, from states that is opting out like Texas and other republican states in the nation.  Because what Florida fails to recognize in their opting out of Medicaid expansion, is that people go to college all those years for a financial payoff in the form of jobs and careers.  And they have student loans to payoff.  Obama Care is a $14 billion stimulus package to the Florida’s economy.  And young doctors have to start somewhere to gain experience and Medicaid expansion offers them an opportunity to get started in their medical careers and gives 1.6 million more people medical assistance in the process. A win-win plan for Florida.

Florida’s unemployment rate is higher than the national average  and in HighlandsCounty where I live which is an agricultural rural area it is over 8%.   Obama Care would mean immediate jobs in the healthcare industry and we do have a lot of retirees and nursing homes here as well and this could mean better care for many of our citizens.  Sure Medicaid pays less then Medicare, but it beats a blank check.  It beats treating the uninsured.  And in this tough economy for many health care professionals, it beats unemployment.  This is the reality of the matter. It my not create the best jobs in the medical field, but it damn sure beats working at McDonald’s, which is about all that is being offered to many people in place like Highlands County, Florida.

It would be an attraction to major big corporate employers to the state of Florida. One of our major pitfalls, is the lack of insured Floridians who are unemployed. If you was a car company, computer manufacturer, retail store or any factory or plant or business in general, would you prefer to hire someone who has health insurance already or someone off of the streets uninsured for many years.  Do the math? It will cost more to insure the uninsured than the person who is insured prior to employment.  Just like it cost more to insure a person over 45 years old than it cost to insure someone in their 20’s.  For this reason is so hard for middle age America to gain employment. But the Medicaid expansion program will attract potential employers to Florida, because it would reduce the risks associated with company benefits such as health insurance and life insurance.  It will create a healthier potential workforce in the state of Florida and would see immediate results.

More jobs means more tax revenue, more healthcare professional in Florida means a better real estate market. While Florida claims a savings of $1.9 billion, how much of the $12 billion gained will become tax revenues?  Not to mention again a stronger and healthier workforce that might be able to better compete for big corporate employers.  The bottom line and common sense tells us that more healthcare means a healthier economy in the state of Florida.

The only solution is a voters registrations drive to get these oppressive legislators out of office.  We need to renew our voting block and if the black community can join alliance, with the gay and lesbian community for marriage equity, if we can join alliance with Mexicans for immigration reform we can join alliance, to strengthen our voting block, we can forge an alliance with our own pot smoking youth to strengthen our voting blocks, hanging pants and all.  This is about life or death and to judge them is to condemn ourselves.

Voluntary Military & Mental Health America

Homeless Veterans ButtonVoluntary Military & Mental Health America

Things go on in the military during wartime and peacetime that are unspoken of.  The fact of the matter is there is never peacetime, because somewhere in the world or our country there is a war, be it against drugs, economic against the poor, but on the forefront now it is the Middle Eastern Wars.

We are in what is considered wartime, because of these engagements.  And there are a lot of people who are being injured both physical and mental. But there is a strange element in these wars unlike any other war in history.  We have an all voluntary military, which I believe has been the case since about 1977.

People join the military as a means of employment as they are hoodwinked by slick recruiters.  Often the military is a means to escape oppression, but it is a temporary fix for most people.  Very few can make a career of the military successfully.  While they are in the military fighting wars and losing their minds, the other people is either going to jail, working, and going to school or vegetating?  Those who vegetate usually end up in prison.  Is it a conspiracy?  I believe this is by design!  The military attracts the people they are supposed to attract, the poor country folks, people out of the Urban Jungle and Trailer House Folks.  So we have more black people by proportion of population in the military and prison, headed by design to a life of dysfunctional episodes.

Is it fair, of course not?  When a rich person joins the military to go to the frontline it makes it to the headlines of the mainstream media.  This country has the poor fighting their wars because they cannot make it otherwise.  And when they comeback they are disarmed and left to fend for themselves, with juveniles armed with machine guns pumping crack to these depressed men and women.  .  They are promised benefits they are incapable of using because they are mentally still overseas and/or spaced out.  The government knows this and has a place for them called prison or the soup kitchen and the lucky ones get an apartment, medications and enough to pacify them, so the government can say look we take care of our own.  But only after they take the twelve steps?   But do they really take care about the many that become mentally ill due to military service in an all voluntary military?  Or better yet is the system designed to do this?

Oh; but meanwhile as they blow up countries we developed that became to independent of America, they say we need immigrants who do not serve in the military, who are here illegally but do not house the prisons.  What is going on is plain and simply evil, it is wrong.  What will America look like 10 years from now?

How about Warfare Reform?

President Obama gets briefedHow about Warfare Reform?

The government Federal and State spent about $40 Billion on the war on drugs in 2009 already.  Arrested were about 1.5 Million people and about half of them for marijuana. And about 8,000 were incarcerated, so what is the point?  Is this a $40 Billion harassment bill?

It will cost about $145 Billion to wage war in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2009 and another $130 Billion in 2010, not to mention the human lives lost by both sides and the permanently injured and disabled as a result of these senseless wars.  The war was based on a lie and everyone knows it so what is there to win?

Now let us add these numbers to the wastes in AIDS research and the incarceration of Americans placed in housing projects to survive by any means, as my nephew put it stockpiled like sardines.  What are we talking about here?

You have $40 Billion spent on a war on drugs that cannot be won, because it is a war against the will of Americans choice of lifestyles.  Put directly we live in  a nation and a generation that is turned off from alcohol and choose to smoke marijuana, which we can grow domestically, tax it and turn a red into black.

You have $150 Billion spent on a Middle Eastern war that cannot be won, that we are in due to a lie by the Bush administration.  And not only is the war senseless but once we exit we will have to restock the weaponry for the DOD so the expenses do not end with the war.  We cannot win the war because there is nothing to win back because nothing was taken by them.  We have to outgrow the mentality that we have to have enemies to be a leading nation and learn to mediate.

You have $600 Billion wasted on the incarceration of poor and mostly illiterate Americans.  We do not even educate inmates anymore, so what is the product we are producing but people who will not have legitimate survival skills upon release, which was why they got incarcerated in the first place. The mission is to cause recidivism.  It a mission meant to cause failure.

And how much does the government spent on AIDS research with a defeated mentally?  The government spent about $25 Billion on AIDS/HIV related expenses?  I do not know, but 66% on treatment and 13% to Research.  Explain the war tactic?  With out any controls that create collaboration, just grants given to dreamers without relevant continuance from prior developments in the campaign to cure AIDS.  It is a mission to cause failure.

Is it the American way to spend money on punishing and killing instead of saving lives and educating the American people to compete in the global market?

How About Prison & AIDS Research Reform

President Obama gets briefedHow About Prison & AIDS Research Reform

The United States has the highest incarceration rate of all the industrialized nations in the world.  In 2007 over 7.2 million people were in prison on probation or parole.  The United States based on the Justice Department Bureau statistics states that over 2 million people were incarcerated in 2002 and by 2005 over 2.3 million were incarcerated at an average cost of about $600 billion dollars per year.  But President Obama wants to save the world, by saving America through healthcare reform.

Let us look at these numbers, Social Security and Medicare was a pyramid scheme whereby when is started more people paid into it than took from it.  Now the exact people who paid into it are now benefiting from their investment in retirement, but now not enough people are putting into it.  But does anyone pay into an “if I go to jail plan?”  Of course not because most people incarcerated go to jail because they have to survive by means other than legitimate income or are sedating themselves with illegal drugs.  But yet we are going to save the world by changing how legal drug are administered.

Think about it over $24,000 is spent per person to incarcerate them.  If we invested these billions or at least a large proportion of the money to employing these people most of them would have no reason to engage in illegal activity especially if we legalize marijuana.  Just as healthcare must be reformed into a real self sustaining system, the legal system has to be revamped.

The Nation of God is merely a reaction to these alarming facts, but the government has to step up to the plate, as in Illinois President Obama’s home state more black men are in prison than in college.  If this money was spent on education and jobs, not just job creation which should be included however, we can drastically reduce the recidivism rate and end the prison revolving door.

Added to these shameful facts is the AIDS virus whereby over 25 million people died worldwide by this dreadful disease and 33 million were infected based on 2007 statistics.  Tens of billions of dollars are being spent on AIDS research but AIDS funding can be put in one word “dumb,” what the government does with AIDS research funding well there are over 100,000 scientist and doctors working on AIDS in the United States that is more than the annual number of AIDS patents in the US.  There are over 80,000 AIDS organization in the United States that is one for each new patent, yet we will single handedly save the world with Healthcare Reform, what a line of crap.  The bottom line is our workforce is locked up in prison and infected with AIDS.  We need a National Presidential Pardon Program to release people out of prison and put them to work, which is what we need.  Furthermore we need a better system for funding AIDS research to get real results and end the current bureaucracy.

AIDS the Dreadful Disease take a Stand

AIDS Ribbon Red and BlackAIDS the Dreadful Disease take a Stand

With over 20 Billion spent on AIDS Research and an estimated $25 Billion in $2010 and over $2 Billion spent on treatment, it is obvious AIDS is a financial resource killer as well as a murderer of people.  Yes I said murderer, because I long held the conspiracy theory, since back in the 1980’s.  What gets me is that in a world whereby we can send rockets around the Universe, people have bought into the incurable theory.  Sure amfAR may not have the answer yet, but that does not count out secret orders and covert operations and the problem is that people have bought into the incurable hypothesis and therefore the government has no reason to take action as AIDS Research seems to be another day at big business at the pharmaceutical corporations, as there is so much profit made in researching the cure and never finding it.  Like the Jews of World War II, black people will go down in history as the people who walked into the gas chambers like sacrificial lambs.  And 20 years from now people will say they were fools for not fighting for their lives.

The people have to rise up against these practices and force the hands of the pharmaceutical industries.  It is my position that music reaches the soul of man and celebrities in the music industry not only have reach but have frequency meaning they can touch a lot of people often.  If the economic war or crisis is World War III AIDS is a major part of the arsenal.  Sure being without is a big deal for someone who had something before, but unemployment has always been double digits for black people, so if America is in recession the black community is in a depression, but a bigger concern is the rising prison population and the spread of AIDS in the black community, I mean like I said in the song “Symbolic Castration,” women are masturbating out of the fear of AIDS and are turning to other women.

It is sad that Hollywood still projects to the world ungodly sexual relationships and the satisfaction of lust in the motions pictures, music and promotional magazines.  From grown women with boy toys half their age to uncommitted sex on the fly and I think it is ill responsible.  I think some things should be left to private life.  Janet Jackson will be a major part of an amfAR event next week in Italy and I hope it is more than a symbolic gesture.  We need to wakeup the sleeping Tiger.  We talk about being proactive for President Obama, like if he is a boy among men, I believe he can hold his own.  Healthcare is good and all, but what good is healthcare for a disease incurable?  Let us face it AIDS is killing black people at astronomical numbers with over 25 Million dead and 33 Million infected according to 2007 estimates, we need to take a stand in our words as well as actions.

RE: We Need Health Reform & it is not the debate

Here are two articles I wrote about health reform as I see it.  I know the letter is long but not near 1,017 pages.  Maybe what I am saying is a way to pay for the health care reform bill?  Why not tax sugar, salt and fatty foods, to subsidize putting a healthy dish on the table of every American?  It would bring back Americans to work in agriculture and farms because it would bring more money to the workers and most importantly save lives.  To sum this letter up if you do not find time to read it in full I simple say this:

Health Reform should start on the dinner table and gymnasium; we are a suicidal society, cure diseases and stop just treating them.

Digestion infection injection rights called Health Reform

America is the food capital of the world, I mean like well over 50% of the world’s cereal comes from the United States.  We are talking about grain a key ingredient to cattle as is water both of which we ship abundantly.

So the government wants to overhaul the health industry in America, so that all Americans are covered.  I am stuck on why, is it to treat illnesses the government creates?  I mean the average American can only afford to eat slop, fatty foods, and foods high on sodium, we are pandered with sweets.  So on one hand you say we want to give every American health care, but only the fortunate Americans can afford to eat right?

Why in America is it not cheaper to eat foods good for you and more expensive to eat junk, when we say health care is going through the roof?  It is like saying we are going to give you obesity and diabetes and in exchange we offer you insulin.

Health Reform should make eating healthy cheaper

Now there is talk about the individual responsibility to eat right as a means to reduce bad health related costs.  But it is cheaper to eat fats and sweets opposed to organic foods or just simply healthy foods.  Real health reform has to address more than the health insurance industry and pharmaceutical industries, it has to touch base with the real American issue which is healthy living.

I think in my humble opinion, there has to be incentives in the food industry to produce healthier foods at cheaper prices.  We tax the hell out of cigarettes and alcohol but give sugar and fats a free ride and it is killing literally killing Americans at a rate that is unrestricted.

A man asked me if I told you that if you eat right I will add 5 years to your life would you accept it.  I wanted the deal but I had to be honest and I told him, if they made healthy food as cheap as unhealthy food, I would eat healthier, but it cost more to eat correctly.  I as many Americans is on a budget and cannot afford healthy foods.

So the United States Government contradicts itself, by saying we need to give everyone a health plan, but we plan to kill you with cheap sugar and fats.  Perhaps we need to revamp the food stamps program and give people an incentive to eat right by paying the higher prices at the register if one chooses to do so.  Since it is the poor without insurance we need to reduce the need as well.  I do not know the answer though I do, really it is simple reduce the costs of healthy foods and tax the killers such as sugar and fats and that will reduce the health cost in the United States more than any health reform.

Finally a one pound box of salt should costs $10; because that is the amount of damage it does to the body at 400 servings per container.  Americans are being poisoned at the supermarket.

The Health Care Reform Bill A Solution!

President Obama #1The Health Care Reform Bill A Solution!

According to WikiAnswer.com an average of 11,673 bills over the passed 53 years have been introduced?   Who reads this stuff most certainly not our elected officials, so exactly whose hands is this country in?  The funny thing about this bill is that most of the Senators and Congressmen do not see any real reason to read this health care reform bill.  Jokingly House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer laughed at the idea of reading the health care bill.  Nobody really understands it, does this mean President Obama is an ingenious or a front man?

I mean can you vote a bill into law that is unconstitutional?  And is there anyway of knowing is the bill is constitutional without being able to read and interpret it and it is 1,017 page long?

You would think that they might pass this bill because President Obama seems to be laying down his presidency on the bill as a success or failure act.

This is what I think they should do.  I think they should assign a committee or our best elected scholars, who will be committed to first officially interpreting this bill to the level of layman terms and then reducing the bill to no more than 200 pages of the most important content that will act as a foundation to a new direction in health care and over the next 2 years continue to develop a comprehensive plan of health care reform.

It is my humble opinion that a real reform in health care will have to be based on three fundamental rationales.

#1: Diseases must be cured as the goal of the pharmaceutical industry and not simply treated perpertually.  A capital incentive should be implemented to this end.

#2: By curing diseases instead of treating them we can realistically afford to deliver universal health care to not just all Americans but the world.  Everyone in the United States should have health care by the year of 2012.

#3: The Congress has to uniformly accept that stem cells and perhaps for moral reasons not necessarily embryonic stem cells is the only real solution to reach this end.  We must not only allow but heavily fund stem cell research as a means to cure diseases and AIDS should be on the top of the list of diseases that are public enemies.  AIDS is now public enemy number one!
